What's Up on Sunday?

Greeting OFF Family,
I am up late, watching a movie, after the Phillies lost a rough game tonight.  I also am very emotional after my move.  It started out iffy, as only 3 men from church showed up, but they made some phone calls and altogether there were 7 adults and five teens moving stuff down from the apartment upstairs.  I also had my sister and 2 friends down here unpacking my kitchen and bedroom.  They started at 9, and had everything down here by 1.  One of the elders kept telling me to sit down, and the other elder kept making sure all the of the furniture was where I wanted it, because he did not want me worrying about where to put things.

Sunday will have me putting stuff away, and unpacking a few boxes.  My son came down in the afternoon, and helped me empty my storage unit.  He wanted to make sure I could stop paying rent on that unit.  Some of the stuff is currently in my dining room, because I could not help him get it down to the basement, but I can recruit some help to do that.

Hugs,
Trish

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

Your friends sound great to help you move. I can't do it by myself anywhere, either, which is why when I moved to Louisiana last year I had to hire movers. I can't lift much of anything. The movers were great. I basically sat there and told them where to put things. Yes, it cost a lot, but it was worth it, especially since I was moving somewhere where I didn't know anyone.

Yeah, Trish, my White Sox had a rough day, too. They had an 8-1 lead and lost 9-8 ... they lead 8-6 going into ninth and their closer gave up a triple, a two-run home and a walkoff homer.

We had rain all day here, while further south in Louisiana down near the Gulf, they got some rain but not as much as predicted. Of course, Tropical Storm Lee isn't through yet, as the worst is supposed to hit late Saturday night or later Sunday.

We really needed the rain ... and it has cooled down some. I have today off and no plans to do anything. Anyway, have a good day.

Glad you got moved Trish and sounds like you had plenty of good help -- Praise God for Christian friends!

Sorry Eileen -- my Tigers got the job done!!!  I was whooping and hollering -- scared Fluffy !

Going to church in a few minutes, after some yogurt for breakfast, then need to pick up a couple things at Wal Mart.  Going to make Chinese Slaw to take to my sister's today....brother is coming and we will finalize details for our trip out west this coming Saturday.

Chatted on the internet with my new guy friend yesterday morning, then nothing the rest of the day.....trying not to get down - I'm sure he was busy.

We had a lot of storms in the evening and night -- hopefully we've seen the last of the 90 deg. days now....so ready for Fall.

Hugs

Colorado, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and maybe Texas.  Grand canyon
is our ultimate destination.

Sounds like a cool trip. Four Corners country is nice. Monument Valley, where John Ford filmed a lot of the John Wayne Westerns, is very interesting. So is Canyonlands National Park. I went through some of these place years ago when I lived out west, before I hurt my knee (but I was a lot heavier then, too). Lots of neat places to see.

Good mornin' ya'll.
Trish, you were lucky to have lots of help. I'm glad they came through for you. When the Navy paid for our moves it was so effortless. Then we paid to move here from OR and we paid to have Mom's stuff moved from TX. Again, we were lucky to get crews who did everything carefully and smoothly.
I finally got my lights I ordered from Gold Violin. I love them! One is about a foot tall and is a touch light. I put it on my bedside table. The other is an adjustable floor lamp with a very bright light. Just right for crochetting with dark yarn at night.
Today is a trip to the commissary. The payday crowds should be gone, and everyone will be out of town for the holiday, so we should have the place to ourselves.
The dogs met a opossum in our back yard last night. All three of them standing back barking at it and the poor scared thing just laying there playing "opossum".
Yesterday was 2 years since I had my gallbladder removed and they found cancer. Doctors gave me a 50/50 chance of surviving 2 years! I am a firm believer in the power of prayer. I want to thank all of you who helped with my recovery by offering up prayers for me. I have such a special place in my heart for all of you!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!!

Congratulations on reaching a milestone in your post-cancer diagnosis.

I think that  your positive attitude and your "let's get 'er done" way of thinking have played a big part in your recovery.  Plus, God isn't ready to take you because you're such a good parent and grandparent that your family couldn't survive without you!  Who'd make the Hallowe'en costumes? LOL
